Actor Malik Yoba is not just sitting back waiting for his show ALPHAS to air, he’s teaching at LIU Brooklyn. If you’re interested in acting, this may be the class for you. With only four (4) classes scheduled [starting today] for $595 you’ll learn:

The Life of a Professional Actor: students will be given an in depth review of the business side of the acting profession. In addition, students will learn and practice performance based exercises and techniques.

Scene Study and Improvisation: students will learn how to “break down” a scene and character, basic improvisation techniques, watch film and live theater.

Audition Techniques and Cold Reads: students will learn how to prepare for an audition, command a room with a cold read, and be taught tactics to secure the part.

Public Speaking for the Actor: students will learn how to accentuate their skills set to a crowd and learn the basics of effectively communicating to individuals or a large crowd.

At the conclusion of this program, the student will have gained: a working knowledge of what it takes to become a professional actor; basic understanding of theatre, film and television acting techniques; improvisational skills; enhanced public speaking capabilities; the ability to audition for a professional casting director; and increased self-awareness and confidence.
